Race Meeting
Race meeting with 1800 of my closest friends. I am sitting next to Ron Bradshaw from Kansas. I met him and his family @ DFW on the way to Hawaii. A friend of ours told me they had a friend from Kansas, that was competing in Ironman. They just happened to sit next to me @ DFW.Giving Norman Stadler some race tips
Norman Stadler, last years IM World Champion, stopped me & asked for some advice. The only thing I could think of was "just keep swimming". He didn't get it. Apparently Finding Nemo never made it to Germany.

Tuesday 10/11
Took it easy this morning. Had a bad run yesterday. Only 4 miles, but legs felt terrible and heart rate was 12 beats higher than normal. Drove up to Hawi, the bike turnaround. It is really going to be a tough ride. Winds up to 50mph in some parts yesterday. This afternoon I went for a short spin. Legs still feel heavy. Headed to the expo opening tonight and to watch the IM parade. Decided not to be in the parade. Picking up a buddy @ the airport tonight. It will be nice to have someone else here (yes even Todd), as I've been by myself since Sat. Family gets here Tursday night.

Anyone know how to assemble a bike?
I arrived in Kona last night, after a long travel day, which included an enjoyable 4 hour layover in Honolulu. I've already met some great people. Last night saw Norman Stadler (2004 IM winner) and his wife/girlfriend strolling through town. This is the view from the Lanai. In TX, we call it a porch.
